About VinRescue
VinRescue is a vehicle rescue reference for fire department members. Scan or type a VIN, pick the vehicle, or snap a photo, and it shows the rescue sheet for that vehicle: high-voltage and fuel hazards, airbag and no-cut zones, and how to shut the vehicle down.
Where the information comes from
- Vehicle details come from the NHTSA vPIC VIN decoder, a free U.S. government service.
- Rescue notes are short summaries written for VinRescue. Each one names the maker document it came from.
- Rescue guides, rescue cards and owner's manuals belong to the vehicle makers. VinRescue does not copy or host them — the buttons open each maker's own published document on the maker's website.
- Vehicle names are used only to identify vehicles. VinRescue is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any vehicle maker, NHTSA, NFPA or Euro NCAP.

Use with care
VinRescue is a quick reference, not a replacement for your training, your department's SOPs or the maker's own emergency response guide. Always confirm the vehicle and its powertrain on scene.
